Bison’s Bluff nature playground at Spring Valley in Schaumburg is already open. This place is amazing! The playground features a lot of different play areas. A musical area for creating sounds with wood and metal instruments. Climbing structures and towers, slides, big Bison, a beaver lodge, rocks and mineral exploration area, sand and water play area and much more. I can not wait for the warm days, so we can enjoy all the water features at Bison’s Bluff. There are a lot of little details that make this place unique. You can find many different animal’s footprints around the playground, and caregiver tips. This place is great for little adventurers as well as big kids.
Bison’s Bluff Nature Playground is designed to engage children in active and passive play in a natural setting. This unique custom-designed play area includes natural materials (logs, boulders, sand, water, etc.) as well as nature-themed play structures and manufactured features that mimic a rock bluff and cliff face, fallen logs, a flowing stream, wetland, beaver lodge, etc. A visit to the playground will inspire active, open-ended, creative forms of play, similar to that enjoyed by previous generations of children who grew up wandering fields, forests, and streams near their homes. The goal is to inspire today’s youth to remain active, develop agility, learn resilience, discover the benefits of cooperation and experimentation, solve problems, and learn to navigate the world around them confidently.
A grand opening celebration is scheduled for Saturday, April 22 (Earth Day!) from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Bison’s Bluff is FREE.
The play area hours: 9 a.m.-8 p.m.
1111 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg
