Do you know that many retail stores offer special programs for children? Free or discounted workshops, craft classes and other activities are offered year round.
Free Kids Workshops at Home Depot
Free Kids Workshops are on the first Saturday of each month, between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm. Start a project with the kids, and teach them the basics of working with tools, while letting them take pride in building a functional object to keep.
Kids can take home their craft, receive a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Workshops are designed for children ages 5 – 12. Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron and pin.

Free Crafts for Kids at Lakeshore Learning Store
Every Saturday, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, Lakeshore Learning Store in Palatine (and other locations) invites kids ages 3 and up for a free crafts. No reservation required.

Craft Classes for Kids at Michaels Stores
On Saturdays from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, Michaels offers Kids Club classes. They are designed for children age 3 and up. Fee: $2 per child for 30 minutes of creative craft fun, supplies are included.

Toys”R”Us Free In-Store Events
Toys”R”Us offers Build & Play, Make & Take and other fun events for children. They have different program for each month, so please check their website for themes, dates, times and participating locations.
Events intended for children ages 4-up or 6-up(check website for details). Parental supervision required at all times for minors. All giveaways and event materials available while supplies last and distributed to participants only. Limit one per customer. Quantities limited; no rain checks.
