Are you ready for a summer fun? Check out this guide with over 20 splash pads, spraygrounds, and spray fountains around northwest suburbs of Chicago. Your children will love playing with water, and splashing around. Those places are perfect for cooling off in the hot summer days. Most of the splash pads are free, but some have a fee to get in. Memorial day weekend is usually the opening week for most of them.

CRYSTAL LAKE – Splash Pad at Veteran Acres Park

Acorn Alley is nature-themed and includes two play structures, log climbers, net climbers, a sandbox, swing sets and a spinner. Splash pad features jets and nozzles that spray water in timed sequences. There is also a picnic shelter.

This splash pad features dump buckets, water cannons, a Tot-Mister and Aqua Dome, several ground geysers and water jets, as well as two shade structures and benches.

ELGIN – Spray Fountain at Festival Park

Both a neighborhood park and an entertainment venue, Festival Park provides a beautiful riverside setting with unique playground and spray park – if it’s summer, wear your swim suit.

The Spray Park fountain hours are from 10 am – 8 pm most days, depending on the weather. The restrooms will only be open while the fountain is in operation.

The fountain area is small, but it’s very nice, and clean. Plenty of benches and picnic tables as well as a covered gazebo. Next to the Splash pad is a nice playground, with a sandbox. The park also has a bocce ball court (bring your equipment), and a port-a-potty.

This Splash Pad is gated, has a restroom building, plenty of tables, and a playground right next to the splash pad. There is also a gated skate park for older kids.

Splash Pad is open daily from May 20 through September 11.

The Sunny Hill Splash Pad can be hard to find, because the GPS takes you in the opposite direction from where the splash pad is located. It is west of Route 59 (Sutton Road) on Irving Park Road.
